Born and raised in San Francisco, Frank became interested in art at an early age. After four years in the Navy during the Korean war, he moved south to Los Angeles to work in the film industry, taking classes at the prestigious Art Center.
For the next fifteen years he worked as a scenic artist, among some of the most gifted artists in the country. He then worked another fifteen years as an art director. Frank is a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After retirement, he moved to Oceanside, where he continues to paint in plein air and in his studio. Professional affiliations include the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, the Southern California Plein Air Painters Association and the California Art Club. |
